Good morning and happy Friday! This weekend I hope to finalize my Christmas decorating, which I’m really excited about. Also, Ryan and I have friends coming over and staying with us. We really don’t have anything planned, other than dinner and game night on Saturday. Whoop!
Today, I want to share with you another project I worked on for the house Christmas décor. With just some ball ornaments, preferably shatter proof, and string you can have an amazing display that will provide interest all day long. This is especially exciting when you can’t even look out the window because it’s so dark almost all day long. Can you tell I looove short winter days?
I bought two different colored ornaments to mix and match the display. Also, some festive ribbon to match. The red was more to add a pop of color.
Start by tying off a piece of ribbon to each ornament. The length of the ribbon will depend on the height of your window and chosen display level. I went about halfway, but it’s entirely up to you.
Using a dowel or existing curtain rod, tie each string to the top. Measure and tape the rod to the floor to keep it from moving. Alternately, you can just hang it where it’ll be and work that way. The later method would have been too hard for me because I would have to be reaching over the kitchen sink. Another decision to make: pattern. I went with a cascading design, but random would work just as well.
Once you’re done attaching all the ornaments, hang rod above window and you’ve got yourself a pretty cool ornament display.
After a couple of days, I decided to add more ornaments because I had extra and I’m crazy.
Actually, if I hadn’t run out of string and ornaments, the window would probably be full.
Hope you have a great weekend!
