Good morning everybody! Hope you’re a little bit warmer where you are, which I’m sure you are. With a high of 12 degrees today and wind chills about 20 below, it would be hard not to. Part of my to-do list this weekend was grocery shopping because it’s going to be below 20 degrees here for the next couple of days. Not fun. My going outside consists of the drive to and from work and taking Boone out to do his business. Other than that, you can find me cuddled up under a blanket at home.
Nonetheless, this weekend was pretty fun. Friday afternoon, Ryan and I met his cousin and wife to watch Iowa play in their bowl game. Not the best game, but at least the bar we were at was handing out free jello shots whenever they scored a touchdown. So even though we lost, we still got some drinks out of the deal.
Afterwards, we were still pretty pent up, so Ryan and I battled each other in a few games of darts/beer pong. For every bulls eye, you got two shots at the beer pong table. With some background music blaring, it was quite a fun night. If you’re wondering who won, we ended up in a tie. I think.
Saturday, I laid in the couch for a while and then we ran some errands. One of our stops was Theisen’s and of course I got some free popcorn.
Once back, I took Boone on a walk. It was chilly, but not horrible. Fresh air feels pretty awesome.
The night ended with a delicious milkshake made with Trader Joe’s Salted Caramel Ice-cream, a Christmas present from my sister-in-law. Sooo good!
Sunday, after some grocery shopping and working on projects it was time to watch the Cowboys playoff game against Detroit. It was a heart racer and in the end we came out victorious. Celebrations all around!
For dinner, asopao and tostones (a Puerto Rican shrimp stew and breadfruit fritters) were in order and the perfect meal for yet another cold night. Can’t wait for leftovers, it’s even better.
All in all, it was a pretty good weekend. Now I’m off to my first week back at work.Have a good day!
