Good morning and happy Monday! Well, this weekend went by fast. Ryan and I had our best friends stay over the weekend and it was great catching up and just hanging out with them. I say any weekend when you get to spend time with your friends is a great weekend.
Friday though, it started with some bad news. I took Mr. Boone to the vet to get his leg checked out again, and it turns out that he has an ACL tear. So, surgery is on the cards for him. We were pretty bummed out, but at least he’ll be good to go after the surgery. Poor guy.
Then, our friends Kayla and Max came over with their baby boy. Apparently, it’s really hard to take a picture of a baby who has recently learned to run. We just caught up and hung out on Friday. Perfect end to the week.
Saturday started pretty early for me. I had a 10 mile run planned, so I wanted to get it done early enough to have the rest of the weekend free. At first, I expected to just shorten it by a bit, but the day was so nice, that I just decided to go ahead and do the whole thing. Also, some of the super early bloomers were popping out. Seriously gorgeous morning.
If you’re wondering how Boone is with kids, well he’s not quite sure what to think of them. He never kept his eye off him and followed him around all over the house. Sometimes, he went on a kissing rampage and didn’t let the poor kid breath. M dog is quite special.
While the guys went golding, the girls met up for lunch. We went to Cheddar’s and ordered salads. They were pretty good.
Then, it was back to the house to relax for a bit before the afternoon dinner party.
We had everybody over for dinner. We chatted and hung out outside because, again, the day was gorgeous. The boys enjoyed their time outside as well.
Sunday called for a long morning in bed. Boone didn’t mind.
Then it was back to Boone and the baby meeting each other and hanging out. Can I just say, babies in the mornings are the best. They’re so happy!
Unfortunately. the gang had to head home, so then I had to go back to the real world and run some errands. By the time I was done, Starbucks was the only thing that could keep me going for the rest of the night.
Remember when I said Boone kept following the baby around? Well, he was soooo tired afterwards. All he did Sunday after they left was sleep, sleep and sleep some more.
When dinner time rolled around, Ryan and I cooked some pasta. It was amazing, It’s our relationship anniversary ritual, which we hadn’t done because we were travelling last weekend. Eight years strong. The rest of the night was spent drinking some wine and watching TV. Last Man Standing to be exact. It’s so good.
Hope you had a great weekend and an even better week ahead!
