Trying New Restaurants

Good morning! Hope you’re weekend was fabulous. Mine wasn’t too bad, mainly because Ryan and I finally reclaimed our house. Friday, we just took it easy. I did some shopping after work and then got home to relax. On the other hand, Saturday was a busy busy day. We woke up bright and early to wrap up the house projects (organize the rooms, finish the 1/4 round, change mattress, throw away bulk items, etc) and also do some major cleaning. It took all morning, but once we were done it felt soooo good to have our house back.

Shortly after getting ready, Ryan’s parents arrived into town and we went out for lunch at Burgerfry, a new burger joint, which turned out to be pretty tasty. Afterwards, we ran around town stopping here and there until finally making it back to the house for some much needed naps.

Once everyone was up and running again, we made our way over to the St. Jude Sweet Corn Festival. The catholic school holds this every year for fundraising and they usually have pretty good food. This time around, we stocked up on sweets.

Also, took the time to enter a raffle for a Mustang. Not sure what Ryan would do with it if he won it.

Later on we made our way to dinner at NewBo Alehouse and on our way out stopped to enjoy part of Young The Giant’s set for the NewBo Music Festival that was going on. Definitely will make it next year. Then we got back to the house to chat some more until bedtime.

Sunday, once his parents left for a family reunion, Ryan and I went fishing. Granted, it was after some convincing since I wasn’t feeling too great. We ended up having a pretty good time and I was able to take some naps on the boat.

Although I didn’t catch anything, Ryan ended up not getting skunked for the first time in a while. I might be his good luck charm.

We had some PepperJax Grill for dinner, since I was craving a good sandwich and they grill their meats, and then just laid on the couch watching TV for the rest of the night. A good Sunday night if you ask me.

Here’s to a good weekend!
