Back to college

Good morning! How’s the weather treating you? It’s starting to turn here and my body is trying to decide if it wants to get sick because of it, or just because it’s exhausted. Nobody knows right now. This weekend was pretty non-stop, but it was definitely a good one.

Friday was the most low key day, as it was rainy and Ryan and I just stayed in watching shows. Rainy days also call for some hot chocolate, and that’s exactly what I did.

Saturday morning we took care of some things around the house, which included giving Boone a haircut and bath. He was not that into it afterwards.

Then, we got on the road back to Ames for a wedding and to visit some friends. Our first stop was at Rachael’s place, where we stayed overnight. Made her a pretty sweet gift bag for letting us stay over at her place. We chatted for a while until it was time to get ready for the wedding.

One of our college friends was getting married on campus and it felt like a mini reunion. Always great to get back in touch with people you haven’t seen in years. Plus, walking around campus was pretty sweet too.

The wedding was very simple and pretty awesome too. Didn’t take any good pictures of Ryan and I, but we did manage a selfie!

After some dancing and drinking, water for me, we went over to the groom’s favorite bar, Thumbs. It was pretty crowded and quite different from when we frequented it, but still a great time. There’s the happy groom in the middle!

At bar close, it was time to get some delicious gyro from the stand at the campustown bars. I always look forward to these when I come back to Ames. So good! Also, don’t ask me how I was able to stay awake the whole night, it was a miracle.

Sunday, we met up for breakfast with another set of friends. It was especially nice to catch up with them because they’re also expecting and just a week away from me, so we’re pretty much on par with our pregnancies. Also, it was Boone’s first outdoor dining experience and he did great.

A quick drive around town, and the we headed back home for some football, naps and relaxation. Great weekend if I say so myself.

Now off to another work week.
