Hello! Hope you had a great weekend. Ryan and I had a blast getting to hang out with some of our college friends again. So fun to catch up with the people you spent so much time with for 4 years. And we did since being in design sometimes we were in the studio until 4 in the morning. We got to know each other very well.
We drove to Des Moines on Friday and had a low key night with a tapas dinner and then just relaxing. Saturday started being quite lazy. Boone didn’t mind.
In the afternoon, I met up with Rachael, my college roommate, and we had a great time catching up over coffee. Before we knew it, an hour had flown by. Love her. I also tried a Starbucks snowman cookies. Turns out the frosting is actually chocolate. Not bad, but not what I expected when I ordered it.
Then, it was time to get ready for the wedding. Getting all dressed up has to me one of my favorite things ever. Specially, when I have a handsome man by my side.
Ryan, of course, made me do the classic belly pose. I think it’s pretty cheesy, as you can tell by my face, but I’ll probably love the picture once I don’t have this big belly anymore.
We had a blast at the wedding. It was super low key, since it was the reception only, and the place was super cool. It was probably an old warehouse that had just been turned into an event space. Nothing too fancy, but super cozy.
Instead of a formal dinner, they had snack and dessert tables. They had good beer, although I didn’t get to have any, and the glasses were the souvenirs. And of course, photo booth!
By the end of the night, Ryan was manning the bar for a bit.
Sunday, we had breakfast at Jethro’s before taking off. Since Boone was passed out in the backseat, Ryan and I made a quick stop at Toys R Us to buy and make our donations to Toys for Tots.
Once home, I finished our basement Christmas tree. I bought the tree and decorations after last year’s holidays for very cheap. I’ll still need to get some greenery to plump it up a bit, but it’s a great start. The skirt came from my mom, her own creation.
Then, some Orange Leaf called me to finish a great weekend. Don’t worry, there’s ice cream under there.
How do you end such a great weekend? With a friendly reminder from the bathroom in the wedding. It was over the sink.
Have a good week!
