Summer Projects

I don’t know about you, but these sunny days and warmer temperature have me ready for summer. Days last longer and everyone seems to be in a better mood. The sun is the best mood booster out there. With that said, I’m looking forward to everything summer brings: crisp citrusy flavors, flowers, outdoor walks, cold beer, bunnies in the yard, farmer’s markets, fresh tomatoes, the feeling of the rays of sun on your skin, road trips, visits to the lake, etc. I’m already brainstorming what projects I’ll be working on this summer, but for now, here’s some ideas to get you started.

Coconut Lime Cookies

These are so good and embody the best flavors of summer: lime and coconut. They’re simple to make and a delight to eat. Perfect for a picnic or backyard BBQ.

Cosmetics Pouch with Personalized Picture

I made this as a gift for my mom, but it’s perfect for summer. There’s a link to the tote bag tutorial in there as well. A perfect carryall with a nautical print to tote everything you need for a day out in the beach or lake this summer.

Need some motivation through the summer to get to your Fall race goals? Here’s one! A personalized medal holder so you can display all your bling. Let’s be honest, it’s one of the top reasons we run.

Nautical Rope Rug

This one might take a little longer than a weekend, but it’s so worth it. I still have my rug by the patio door and it’s perfect. It looks great, it’s sturdy and keeps my house clean. I might just make another one this summer!

Lemon Basil Mint Sorbet

Summer without ice-cream? Impossible! This sorbet is magical. The inspiration came from a smoothie Ryan and I tried at a farmer’s market once. If you feel up to it, you should definitely try this flavor combo!
