Good morning! Another great weekend is in the books. Ryan’s parents came over for a visit, so Friday was spent taking care of some things around the house. We wrapped up some projects Saturday morning and by the time we were done, my back was getting kinda sore. So Ryan hooked me up to his electric pulse massager for 15 minutes and everything was all better. He got it for $30 at Walgreens and it had been amazing.
For lunch, we had some butternut squash soup. The recipe can be found on my Pinterest Boards. It involved roasting some veggies and it was quite delicious.
Ryan’s parents came in with another big haul for Baby Ayers, which included this awesome bouncy horse. Pretty soon my belly won’t fit in it…
We spent the rest of the day watching college football and hanging out with Ryan’s cousin, wife and kid. We went out for dinner and by the time we got back it was time to rest.
Sunday morning we headed bright and early to a local orchard. I’ve been wanting to go for a while and we finally made it in. The first thing we did was try their apple cider donuts and they were so so good. I might need to make it back up there for more.
Allen’s Orchard is pretty small, but definitely big enough for what we needed. We got apples from about 6 different varieties, plus some to make an apple pie later. Yes!
After cleaning the batch, we had quite a few apples to choose from for snacks during the week. Sweet!
Then, it was time for some more football. Although the Cowboys didn’t win, it was still fun watching the games with the parents, since Ryan’s love for them came from his dad.
They left to go back home and we pretty much hung around relaxing until it was time to head outside to watch the lunar eclipse. It was pretty spectacular if you ask me. I love watching the night sky and getting lost in thoughts of how tiny we truly are. Plus, my family was watching it at the same time too, which is a pretty cool thought as well.
Here’s to a good week and end of September!
