Good morning and Happy Friday! Excited for the three day weekend ahead? I sure am. We’ll be heading down to the in-laws lake property to camp this weekend and I’m excited to take Olivia along. Although it will be on the chilly side (high of 67 on Saturday?!?!?), I’m sure we’ll make the most out of it. Plus, we’ll find out how well Olivia takes on fireworks. To be honest, she might already be down for the night by the time they start. Whatever you do, hope you have a great weekend!
Here’s some of my favorites from the past month.
I want to make sure Olivia is used to water and spends a lot of time splashing around as a kiddo. Knowing we would be in the water often this summer, I bought her a pair of reusable swim diapers and fell in love with them as soon as they arrived. They are adjustable in both waist size and “inseam” length, so they should last for a little while. We haven’t had any accidents in them yet, so I can’t vouch for their capabilities, but they look like they’ll hold up just fine. I love that they’re not bulky like regular swim diapers and that they can be used over and over again.
I’ve been using Almay products for a while, but these wipes have come to my recues when I’m tired and just want to go to bed without wasting any time in my nightly routine. They take my makeup right off without leaving my face dry or irritated. They also don’t burn my eyes like some eye makeup removers do. Keep them on your nightstand for a quick clean if you end up in bed with makeup on but don’t want to even think about getting up to wash your face.
I absolutely love this stroller as just and everyday stroller, but I recently took it out for an actual run and it was super smooth. the front wheel locks in place to keep side to side movement to a minimum and I was able to run with it with little effort. Granted, running while pushing 30+ pounds isn’t a walk in the park, but it was more comfortable than I expected. I tried running with both hands on the handlebar and with only one hand, both being pretty seamless. I’m short (5’1”) and it didn’t feel like the handlebar was too high. It doesn’t adjust, so this was a worry for me. I did talk to my pediatrician who said the baby is good to go with me on my runs as long as she is on the car seat and securely fastened. For regular walks, she can go in the stroller without the car seat now. It’s also easy to adjust the canopies to keep the sun away from Olivia’s face. Plus, it’s so easy to fold up and put away. Love it!
Hydrating is a must for me. Sometime in college I substituted all my soda drinking with water. Ever since then, I drink water all day long. With my past half marathon trainings and then getting pregnant, keeping hydrated was a necessity. Now, I’m chugging water to keep my milk production up. about 120 oz a day! So, my trusty Camelbak bottle is always by my side. I seriously take it everywhere. What I love most about this one is that it comes with a straw, so you can drink it without tilting your head back or having to open the cap. Which is perfect for car rides and mindless drinking, or even when exercising on the bike. This size is a little bit big for cupholders, but I need all the water I can get. The mouthpiece is removable so it’s easy to clean, or you can even replace it if you want. In addition, I’m eliminating unnecessary plastic water bottles.
Warmer weather brings sandal season, which can take a toll on your pretty feet. Keeping them smooth and pretty is a must. In comes my trusty foot stone. You can presoak your feet for a more through buffing, or just bring it in the shower with you. I’ve also used it on dry feet when I just need a quick retouching, and it has always worked great. Easy to clean and use. It has two sides, one coarse and one fine, so you can use it as needed and adjust your pedi as needed. It does the job without hurting my feet either, some of those stones are just brutal. Pretty feet = happy sandals
Ok, I might be obsessed with these. I keep one on my nightstand, in my bag, in the diaper bag, in my car and a few extras lying around. This has been the best lip moisturizer I have found. It’s a bit glossy, but not too much. I use it a few times a day and the effect lasts for hours, sometimes even after eating. I’ve tried other moisturizers through the years, but always keep coming back to this one. I never leave home without it.
